COACH/TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS:
I am writing this letter of recommendation for Brenna Beck, a student of my ninth-grade honors history II class over the past year. During this time, I observed many positive traits and characteristics that make Brenna a good candidate for your program. She demonstrated a consistent work ethic throughout the year, a level of care and concern for her classmates, and a level of humility that is missing in many young people’s demeanor.
Brenna maintained a solid B plus grade average in the course throughout the year. There were no “bumps in the road”. She did solid work from day one and continued until day 180. This grade was higher than most of her peers and was accomplished while keeping a difficult course load and being part of extra-curricular activities throughout the year. Her attendance, promptness, and work completion were all top-notch.
Brenna is well-liked by her peers and her teammates. She works well with others in class. However, during this particular year she was a constant helper to a friend of hers who had some personal problems. Brenna stuck by her side and helped her get through. Her constant presence in this young person’s life was noticeable to me and her classmates alike.
Toward the end of the school year, Brenna had multiple successful moments with the softball team including, but not limited to having clutch walk-off hits for varsity squad. She did not brag nor boast. She continued to perform in class and continued to work hard at her craft. She was willing to graciously accept praise and appreciated the positive feedback. A few of the other players at time would gripe about playing time or position, but not once did I hear Brenna join in on these conversations.
Brenna was an asset to my class and is a sparkling example of what we look for in our young student athletes. I have no reservations regarding her acceptance into your program.
